About Yes I Cane

Yes I Cane was born from a simple belief: that life is full of possibilities—and old chairs deserve one too.

My name is Sandrine, and I restore more than furniture. I restore stories, memories, and craftsmanship that shouldn't be lost to the landfill. My journey with chair caning began thanks to two incredible mentors, Bernard Zike and Marion Puglisi at Able to Cane. Alongside lessons from my endlessly resourceful  French father, I’ve trained in France and Quebec under masters of the craft, blending old-world techniques with a deep respect for every piece I touch.

At Yes I Cane, I specialize in repairing antique, mid-century, and handwoven chairs—each one unique, each one with a story to tell. Whether it’s your grandfather’s porch rocker or a camp chair worn by years of sun and seasons, I believe in breathing new life into what others might throw away.

Restoring a chair is never just about the object—it’s about memory, family, and emotion. I’ve seen it firsthand in the eyes of my clients, when a once-forgotten heirloom comes back to life. Sometimes there's sweat. Sometimes even tears. But always, there’s joy.

Whether it’s your child’s first chair passed down to a new generation, or a weathered patio set you’re not ready to give up on, I’m here to help you keep what matters. And YES, I CANE.
